World Changers - Leader in Me

Our school is working together to develop leadership skills in students, fostering their personal and academic growth through a comprehensive educational program called The Leader in Me. The Leader in Me is based on Stephen Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People". This program focuses on:

Leadership Development: Encouraging students to take responsibility for their actions and develop leadership potential
Character Education: Focusing on values such as integrity, teamwork, and respect
Student Empowerment: Helping students set and achieve personal goals, enhancing their confidence and self-efficacy
Collaboration: Promoting a culture of teamwork among students, teachers, and parents

Through this program, we aim to create a positive school environment where our Bobcats can thrive academically and socially, preparing them for future success by empowering every student to be a leader. Below are the habits that will be posted in our classroom and referred to daily.

Ways Parents can Reinforce the Leader in Me Principles at Home:

Encourage your child to take initiative by discussing daily responsibilities.
Model proactive behavior by addressing challenges positively and discussing solutions together.
Help your child set long-term goals.
Encourage them to think about how they can make a plan to achieve those goals.
Teach your child to prioritize tasks by discussing homework and chores.
Foster a mindset of cooperation by encouraging your child to look for solutions that benefit everyone involved, especially during conflicts with siblings or friends.
Engage in family discussions where everyone's opinions are valued, demonstrating respect for different perspectives.
Practice active listening during conversations.
Encourage your child to ask questions and show empathy.
Encourage your child to work with others (this could be through team sports, etc.).
Discuss the importance of self-care (physical, emotional, & mental well-being).
Encourage them to partake in activities or hobbies they like.
Set aside family time for activities that promote balance (reading, board games, playing outside).
