Parent Notes- All notes must have the following information: date, teacher's name, student's first and last name, and parent signature.


Changes in Transportation- If you wish for your child's transportation to be changed for a particular day, please send in a written note with the correct date, teacher's name, student's first and last name, and parent signature. If there is no written note received then your child will go home via his/her usual method of transportation. 


Communication (Blue) Folders- You will receive your child's work in a blue Teacher/Parent communication folder. This folder will stay in your child's backpack. Please put any notes from home (change in transportation note, etc.) in this blue communication folder. This folder will be sent home daily and should return to school daily. 


Homework- Students will be expected to read daily, practice his/her spelling words & skill words, and practice addition and subtraction facts to sums of 10. Students will be expected to know their facts fluently by the end of the school year. Students can choose to complete an optional "Homework Bingo" board each month to receive a prize. 


Attendance- Your child's regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial to his/her success. The school opens at 7:00am and School starts promptly at 7:45am. Most of our learning activities are group oriented and involve hands-on learning with classmates. Please view school as a priority, and see to it that your child attends everyday, except in cases of illness or an emergency. Please try to schedule medical appointments after school hours or on student holidays. 


Absence- If your child is absent, please use this link to submit an absent note. Doctor's notes can be sent to school via your child's blue communication folder or may be faxed to 864-355-2214.


Early Dismissals- Please send a note in the morning if you plan to pick your child up early. Check in at the office to sign your child out and the office staff will call for your child to meet you there. There will be no early dismissals after 2:00 p.m. Your child must be present for at least 3.25 hours of instructional time to receive credit for the day. 


Dress Code- Students are encouraged to wear comfortable, clean clothing which is suited for the weather.  Shoes should be worn at all times.  Caps and hats may not be worn in the building.  Please make sure that all shirts or tops meet the waist band.  Stomachs should be covered at all times.  If children are sent to school in shorts, they should be long enough to completely cover the top of the legs to within two to three inches of the knee.  The primary objective of Greenville County Schools (GCS) is to provide a World-Class instructional program and learning opportunity for every student. The personal appearance of every student is an important component of establishing a safe environment for optimal learning and respect for one another. Students are expected to dress in an appropriate manner while on school district property or representing the school. Personal appearance shall be such that it does not disrupt student work or school order, become distracting to other students, or violate health and safety guidelines. Flip-flops (shower-type shoes) are not permitted.  No tank tops, spaghetti strap tops, halter-tops, or vests without shirts will be permitted. Shoulder straps have to be a minimum of l inch wide. No see-through or mesh garments may be worn. 


Student ID Badges- Students will receive one lanyard and ID badge. The cost of a new ID (if damaged or lost) is $5. Students will be expected to wear their ID badge daily when both entering and exiting the building. 


Chromebooks- Please make sure that your child comes to school each day with a fully charged Chromebook.


Lunch- Lunch money is collected in the cafeteria. It can be paid for daily, weekly, or monthly. Money may also be deposited into your child's lunch account through My School Bucks. The lunch menu is subject to change. To view the monthly lunch menu please click here. Breakfast: All students can eat breakfast for free. Lunch: Students- $2.50 & Adults- $4.75. We will have a designated day each week where students can purchase snacks from the cafeteria. Prices range from $.50 to $1.25. 


Snack Time- Students are allowed to bring and eat one snack during snack time. Please do not send in items such as candy. Some snack ideas include: fruit, crackers, dried cereal, granola bars, goldfish, etc.
