Welcome to Fourth Grade!

Hello and welcome to fourth grade! My name is Jennifer Weishaar, and I am thrilled to welcome you to our virtual classroom! We have an exciting school year ahead filled with engaging lessons, new discoveries, and opportunities to learn and grow together. Although we'll be meeting online, we'll build a classroom community where everyone feels connected, supported, and encouraged to do their very best.

During our first few days together, I'll have the opportunity to learn all about you. Before we get started, I'd like to share a little about myself.

I was born and raised in New England. Surprisingly, I never developed a love for seafood! In fact, I may be the only New Englander who doesn't enjoy lobster or shellfish. I attended college in Rhode Island before returning to Connecticut for graduate school, where I earned my Master's in the Art of Teaching from Sacred Heart University.

After graduating, a college friend and I moved to Maryland to begin our teaching careers. I taught both fifth and third grade before my family and I decided to make Greenville County our home. We quickly fell in love with the southern hospitality, sweet tea, and the charm of downtown Greenville. It has been a wonderful place to live, work, and raise our family.

My son,Devin, is entering his junior year at Clemson University, and my daughter,Kaylee, is beginning her freshman year there as well. They like to joke that I'm the one who has been "left behind" in elementary school! Family is incredibly important to me, and you'll probably hear a few stories about them throughout the year.

This is my sixth year teaching with the Greenville County Schools Virtual Program, and I truly enjoy helping students succeed in an online learning environment. I love finding creative ways to make learning interactive, engaging, and fun while helping every student build confidence and reach their goals.

I am so excited to be your teacher this year! Together, we'll ask questions, solve problems, celebrate accomplishments, and make wonderful memories. I can't wait to get to know each of you and begin our fourth-grade adventure together!

Welcome to our class—it's going to be an amazing year!
