Hello and welcome to fourth grade!  My name is Jennifer Weishaar, and I am extremely excited to have you in our fourth grade class this school year!  It is going to be a wonderful year filled with so many new experiences.  I hope that you are excited to see what is in store for us!  During our first days of virtual learning, I am going to have the opportunity to learn all about you; however, I would like to take a few minutes to share a little bit about myself.

I was born and raised in New England.  Yet, surprising to most, I never developed a love for seafood.  In fact, I may be the only New Englander that does not enjoy lobster and other shell fish.  I later moved to Rhode Island for college and back to Connecticut for graduate school.  After completing my Masters in the Art of Teaching from Sacred Heart University, a college friend and I moved to Maryland to begin our teaching careers.  While in Maryland, I taught fifth grade and later third grade.  With a love of good, southern sweet tea and southern hospitality, my family and I moved to Greenville County.  Downtown Greenville and the quieter pace of life captured our hearts!  My son, Devin, is heading into his sophomore year at Clemson University and my daughter, Kaylee, is a senior at Woodmont High School this year.  They have joked that I am the one "left behind" in elementary school.  My family and friends are such a special part of my life, and you will hear much more (than they probably care for me to share) as we learn more about each other.

I am delighted to be your teacher, and I look forward to learning along with you.  I know that this will be a fantastic school year for all of us!
