Magnet Distinction
MAGNET DISTINCTION REQUIREMENTS:
Students must complete the following requirements in order to graduate with magnet distinction:
Complete the course requirements of their chosen magnet focus area(s).
Choose a Senior Capstone Experience (listed below) to complete by winter break of their senior year.
Take one creative arts unit and three or more units of the same foreign language
In order to make everyone aware of the magnet distinction requirements, students and their parents/guardians sign a magnet student contract which states students will complete the course requirements of their chosen magnet focus area(s) and a Senior Capstone Experience by winter break of their senior year. School counselors also discuss magnet distinction requirements in IGP meetings in the spring of each school year. The responsibility lies solely with the students to make certain they are on track to meet the magnet distinction requirements.
