About Me

This is my tenth year as a Wade Hampton General and my 20th year in the classroom! In past years I have taught Biology, Chemistry, Zoology, Environmental Studies, Integrated Science, AP Chemistry, and AP Environmental Science. We moved here several years ago from outside Savannah, GA and really enjoy Upstate life!

I met my husband Josh when we were attending Auburn University (War Eagle!) I have a B.S. in Zoology with an emphasis on conservation and biodiversity and a Master's in Secondary Science Education. Josh and I have two children both attending Wade Hampton this year.

In my free time I like being outdoors; running, bird-watching, horseback riding, and watching soccer. I like to read, play trivia, and spend time with family and friends. My daughter and I ride horses; we have a cat, a dog, and a snake.

Fun Facts about Mrs. Kelsey:

1. I am vegetarian and have been for over 30 years.

2. I didn't start running until I was 30, but have run four marathons, one 50k, and too many half marathons to count.

3. Middle Child; my older sister lives nearby and is also a high school teacher, our younger brother lives in California.

4. I am an early bird. I will go to bed at 9 pm and wake up at 4 am.

5. Has lived in seven states, but considers Missouri home.

6. In 2025, I became the shortest person in my family...whomp, whomp.
