Challenge Class is all about developing the dispositions of a successful lifelong learner. Therefore, our progress reports, which students receive after the first and second semesters, reflect these goals. Students receive an Excellent, Satisfactory, or Needs Work designation for each category. Excellence is defined as students using the feedback that I give them during each class to improve. In math, students receive feedback during each class to ensure their success in our Figure It Out, Hands-on Fractions, and Hands-on Equations curriculum!
Expectations:
1. Students work collaboratively to develop and improve projects based on criteria, strategies, and mini-lessons presented in class
2. Students engage in each lesson, asking questions and participating in discussions
3. Students listen to one another and the teacher with active listening habits
4. Students treat the classroom and all individuals with respect and kindness.
Students will be given weekly letter grades (E, S, or NW)in order to track their progress, address areas that need work, and celebrate successes!
