About Me

I am a dedicated educational professional. I work hard to provide my students with the best possible learning experience. My career has been gratifying and rewarding. Here is my resume. I am thankful to be able to look back on my career and life without regrets.

I have taught at Hillcrest High School for nearly thirty years and have enjoyed leading my students in many inspiring community service projects. The photos on my website pages are just a small sample of our local, national, and international service-related, community-focused projects. These experiences have played a key role in improving my students' college and career readiness and communication skills. They have also been fun and helped create lasting memories for everyone involved.

Additionally, I have worked with College Board for eleven years as an AP Reader during the AP Reading, scoring AP Spanish Language and Culture Exams. This role has given me valuable hands-on experience in assessment and in supporting student success at all levels of language learning.

A former student and graduate of Hillcrest High School wrote this article, "The ACE Award Encourages Students to Give Their All," about the Advocates for Character Education (ACE) Awards. This award honors students who value community service and demonstrate strong character, educational achievement, and academic determination.

I also incorporate technology into my teaching methods to enhance my students' learning experience. In a blog post titled "Theming Our Quizlet-Enhanced Journey to Success," I shared my experience using Quizlet to improve my students' learning. I am always reading, studying, taking courses, learning and searching for ways to facilitate my students' success.

I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Hillcrest High School community and the opportunity to contribute to our vision: "Hillcrest High School will cultivate a legacy of academic and individual excellence and empower lifelong learners to face challenges with integrity and confidence."
