Theatre 1:
This course is an overview of the basics of drama and acting. Students will learn skills and have experiences that they can build on in consequent levels of Theatre. Daily participation is required, as skills are learned, practiced, and accomplished. Culmination of the course is the production of a 10 minute play.
Technical Theatre:
This course is an overview of the basics of technical theatre and design. Students will assist with the technical and design process for the fall play or spring musical by constructing sets, making props, and putting together costumes. Students will have the opportunity to read plays and create their own theatre designs. Culmination of the course is a final design project for a play.
Advanced Theatre Arts:
Theatre 2H, 3H, and 4H coursework requires rigorous study and builds excellence in performance. Students will gain an extensive knowledge of all areas of theatre. Collaboration skills grow as students work as an ensemble to create a production. Students will be required to complete an honors credit assignment by being involved in a production, seeing and critiquing a live theatre performance, OR reading and reporting on 3 plays. Culmination of the class is the production of a one-act or full length play.
