Dear parents,

Please take 5 minutes to carefully read these FAQs. I promise it will make yours and your child's life easier. Your family's emotional health is of the utmost importance.

Instructions for downloading material to student Chromebooks are here: Accediendo a Google Classroom... and Accessing Google Classroom... Both of these documents (as flyers) will be available for pick up at mobile Wi-Fi and meals sites by Tuesday, March 31st.

How much should I help my child?

Your child might need some help with directions or how to complete the assignment, but all of the content taught before April 20th is review! We encourage you to let your child work independently as much as possible. They're smart kids!

How long should my child be working each day?

Around 3 hours. Some students complete all their work in the morning, while others spread it out throughout the day. Students are encouraged to take breaks between activities.

How long should my child spend in each subject?

The district asks students to complete the minimum number of minutes as follows:

• ELA (60 minutes)

• Math (50 minutes)

• Science and/or Social Studies (40 minutes)

• Related Arts (25 minutes)

• Enrichment (25 minutes)

If your child is having difficulty, set a timer for each subject area.

Does my child have to complete all the ELA activities for each day?

No. Your child should read for 20 minutes each day (if possible) and spend the remaining 40 minutes working on the day's reading and writing activities. Your child can choose the activities they want to do.

Does my child have to complete both science and social studies each day?

No. The district states that students should work a minimum of 40 minutes on science and/or social studies each day. We created options for both subjects for the first 10 days of eLearning. If your child completes a 40 minutes science activity, they are not required to do the social studies activity for the day. Your child can definitely do both each day, but the minimum requirement is 40 minutes.

Does my child need to do MobyMax each day?

Yes. Students should spend 20 minutes on MobyMax! Your students' teacher will have MobyMax information.

Does my child have to do Related Arts every day?

Yes. There is a Bingo card with a variety of activities for each subject. Some parents have asked if they can substitute other activities for the ones listed on the Bingo cards. Yes! If the activity is comparable to any related arts activity, it can be counted. For example, an arts craft can count towards art and outside exercise can count towards PE.

What should my child access online each day?

• Fork Shoals School's eLearning Hub website to complete assignments

• K-1 will need to access SeeSaw as of April 20th, if your child's teacher is not already using it to post and share assignments

• Google Classroom for important announcements and assignments (3-5th and maybe 2nd)
