Mission Statement
The mission of the Fork Shoals Counseling program is to provide all students with a data-informed comprehensive school counseling program that helps students improve academically, grow socially and emotionally, and learn about postsecondary opportunities. The school counselors engage students through meaningful activities and interventions in order to develop strong character, leadership, and citizenship. As advocates for Fork Shoals School students, the school counselors work to remove barriers and meet individual needs beyond the classroom by collaborating with teachers, families, administrators, and the community.
The Fork Shoals School School Counseling program maintains confidentiality of their students through having a good working relationship with students, parents and members of the school. Every effort is made to protect parent and student privacy rights except in situations regarding safety (a harm to self or others), legal issues and professional responsibilities as stated by the American School Counseling Association’s Ethical Standards for School Counselors.
