Homework Policy
Ms. Brubaker’s Fourth Grade Homework Policy
Homework is an important part of our journey, and here's how it will work:
Types of Homework:
1. Nightly Math and Reading: From Monday to Thursday, you'll have math homework that reinforces what we learned in class. It's like a puzzle to solve, and it'll make you a math superhero!
2. Spell-tacular Spelling: Also, from Monday to Thursday, we'll have fun with spelling. You'll get to practice some tricky words and show them who's boss! Spelling homework expectations can be found in students' homework binders.
3. Special Missions: Occasionally, you'll have a take-home project or an interesting homework assignment from another subject. It's a chance to explore, be creative, and learn in a new way.
*Homework is sent home each night in students' Homework Binder, along with student agendas. All assignments, tests, quizzes, and project due dates are recorded in student agendas each morning.
Homework Routine:
Homework Time: We suggest spending around 30-40 minutes on homework each night. But remember, it's not about speed – take your time and enjoy the challenge!
Homework Check: We'll check your homework each morning to see your fantastic work. It's like a high-five from us to you!
Homework Heroes: If you complete your homework regularly, you're becoming a Homework Hero! Your skills will grow, and you'll feel confident in class.
Benefits of Homework:
Super Brain Power: Doing homework helps your brain stay sharp and strong. Just like practicing soccer makes you a better player, practicing homework makes you a super learner!
Confidence Boost: When you conquer homework, you'll feel super proud of yourself. Imagine how great it'll feel to raise your hand with the answer in class!
Learning Fun: Homework isn't a boring chore – it's a chance to explore new things, practice skills, and discover your strengths.
Showcase Skills: Homework is your chance to show off what you've learned. You're like a superhero showing off your special powers!
Communication:
Parent Notifications: Parents and guardians, if homework hasn't been completed more than three times, I’ll send a friendly note home.
Questions? Concerns? If you're ever confused about homework, ask your teacher during class. I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
Remember, homework is your secret weapon for becoming an awesome learner. Let's make this year full of growth, fun, and lots of learning adventures!
