“Pre-Screen” Requirements:
Submit 4 pieces of creative work and discuss your process, ideas and motivation for making each piece.
Select 4 items that you have previously created. Document these items and include them on designated slides. We are aware that students may have limited experience in technical theater. Show examples of what you have. Examples of previous work might include:
Drawings/ photographs of scenery, props, costumes, puppets. Also audio recordings, electronics, programming, or productions on which the student has worked
Production / prompt scripts or cue sheets from a show
Craft or Tech Ed projects
A resume
Planning drawings for a construction project
Items that you have constructed and/or built
Answer 7 questions as listed with a short paragraph (at least 2 sentences) These questions are intended to gauge your interest and experience in Design and Production. Be honest, but also thorough with your responses. Please make sure to use complete sentences and a logical thought structure.

If you qualify, you will be invited to a callback interview
Students will be notified as their applications are reviewed. The sooner you submit your pre-screen, the sooner you can sign up for an interview.
You will be notified of your application status (In-person Audition / Callback Interview) as you complete your application or by Jan. 28th in ACCEPTD, please check your email regularly.
Interview scheduling links will be included in your email that discusses the next step. Interviews are scheduled in a first-come-first-served basis.
You will sign up for a specific interview time slot. Please sign up for your time slot when you receive the invite. If you have not signed up for a time slot by Feb 4th, one will be assigned to you.
The in-person audition / callback will consist of 4 parts:
Home Project (click on link for project directions)
Complete Home Project and bring it with you to the interview
Collaboration Project (completed at interview with fellow students)
Written Response to design questions at the Interview
Students will answer a written/drawn response onsite at the school.
Interview - Applicants should be prepared to discuss:
Their experiences and interests in Set Design, Construction, Painting, Stage Lighting, Sound Design/Recording, Projection, Costumes, and/or Stage Management
Any related skills such as: carpentry, sewing, painting, electronics, musical engineering, handicrafts, photography, interests in storytelling
Their interest in learning Theater Production and Design.
