FREE PARENT WORKSHOPS

Triple P of Greenville provides workshops and collaborative learning opportunities for parents, caregivers and community members over the semester. This engagement has direct impact on your child’s outcome for returning to their home-based school and overall success in all areas of their life. It is our goal to provide support and resources to help navigate the challenges your family may be facing.

There are two upcoming events before we close out the year (which are always open to all, free to attend, and meal included). Flyers for both are attached and registration links are below. We look forward to seeing you!

Students’ unmet mental health needs pose barriers to learning and development. Because of school counselors’ training and position, we are uniquely qualified to provide education, prevention, intervention and referral services to students and their families. Although school counselors do not provide long-term mental health therapy in schools, we provide a comprehensive school counseling program designed to meet the developmental needs of all students. As a component of this program, school counselors collaborate with other educational professionals and community service providers to ensure that students and their families have access to mental health services. Ethical guidelines support counselor’s referring to outside resources.  Some the of reasons why a counselor may make outside referrals are when: the presenting problem is outside of the counselor’s scope of training and expertise, the counselor is without the sufficient resources to provide appropriate mental health response, when a student requires more support and attention to address or solve a problem, and when a student needs are greater than those the counselor can provide in the school setting.

*Parents can always go to their Family Physicians to get referrals for their child.
