First Grade pictures from the STEAM Lab

Students used the Engineering Design Process to create an object that would get a person's attention from across the room.

After looking at and discussing a variety of examples of towers, first graders had to work as a team to create a tall tower using only 20 cups.  Notice the different designs and teamwork.

This young man may be an architect one day. He asked for paper and pencil to first sketch their group's tower design before they started construction.

Look at that artwork!

In this activity, students were learning the Scientific Method as they tested Skittles dissolving in three different liquids-water, vinegar and milk. The bonus was that they created a colorful art design in the process!
