CogAT/Iowa Tests: Gifted & Talented Assessment
I will be helping administer the CogAT/Iowa Gifted and Talented Assesement Tests from October 6th β 9th. This important assessment is required for all second-grade students.
π« No Challenge Classes: Due to testing, there will be no Challenge classes during this week (October 6thβ 9th). Classes will resume as scheduled the following week.
In September, students dove into the fascinating world of architecture, exploring the history and engineering behind famous structures. They learned how to:
Conduct research
Evaluate reliable sources
Effectively present their findings
Alongside these skills, we focused on digital citizenship, emphasizing how to navigate the online world safely, responsibly, and ethically. The culmination of their efforts was showcased through a fantastic project presentation! I loved seeing their creativity!
Last week, we began our Engineering Design Process unit. We are discussing the essential qualities of teamwork while completing creative problem-solving challenges.
Students are making fantastic progress in algebra with the Hands-On Equations program! This method uses physical pieces to make solving equations a visual and kinesthetic process.
We are currently reviewing Level 1 of Hands-On Equations.
π This month, students will begin Level 2.
π² Students are especially excited to learn the meaning of the βwhite pawnβ pieces!
