Building Thinkers, Creators, and Problem-Solvers
September was a month full of discovery and self-awareness as students continued their journey in identifying their Multiple Intelligences—what we like to call their "smarts"!
With their top three “smarts” identified, students are now hard at work designing mini-projects that align with their unique intelligences. These projects provide an opportunity to showcase learning in ways that play to their strengths—whether that’s through music, movement, words, logic, visuals, or interpersonal skills.
I am already seeing fantastic creativity, effort, and pride as students prepare to share what they've learned!
This month, we focused on growing our critical thinking and perseverance through our "Figure It Out" math challenges. Students tackled complex problems while building a toolbox of strategies to help them solve problems with confidence and creativity.
🛠️ Strategy Highlights:

Students practiced translating word problems into visuals—diagrams, sketches, or models—to organize their thoughts and better understand the problem.
đź”· Use a Pattern
By identifying number sequences or logical progressions, students learned to spot and apply patterns to efficiently solve problems.
I am proud of how students are sticking with challenging tasks, thinking flexibly, and supporting each other in their growth as mathematicians!
