As a 43+ year veteran of emergency services in Greenville County, I hold certifications as a Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, National Registry Basic Emergency Medical Technician and am also a former South Carolina Fire Marshal and Paramedic. I hold a B.A. degree in Radio and Television Production and a B.S. in Fire Services.

In 2013, I retired as Fire Chief of Glassy Mountain Fire Department continuing my service as the Recruitment and Retention Grant Coordinator with the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association. While working with the SC State Firefighters' Association on programs designed to increase the number of volunteer firefighters in South Carolina, one of those efforts was advancing the Career and Technology Education Firefighter program.
