February...

Happy National School Counseling Week!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We are focusing on .... CELEBRATING FAMILY!

In addition to our classroom lessons, students in grades K5-2 receive an idea sheet of fun things to do with their family....things to do at home that are absolutely free!  Have fun trying out some new ideas:)

January....

Our learning target is:

I CAN SHOW SELF CONTROL!

Some statements we can practice are:

"I may not like this, but I can handle it."
"I am strong enough to do this."
"This may be difficult, but I can try."

We are learning about "Clark the Shark" and how showing self control at school helps him learn, have friends to sit with at lunch, and play safely on the playground.

"When the teacher's talking, don't go walking."
"Only munch your own lunch."
"Easy does it, that's the way.  Then my friends will let me play."

We can WAIT, take a deep breath, think about consequences, and then choose!
