Grading Rubric for Participation
Daily participation grades are given in Physical Education.
Participation Grades: Q = 98, M = 88, P = 78, L = 68
** a 68 is also given to a student who did not wear tennis shoes
and was not able to fully participate in PE class.
Standard Based Grading Rubric
Q - Quality (90-100)
- Demonstrates age-appropriate skill development
- Consistently shows good sportsmanship/self-control
- Consistently shows respect for others/teamwork
- Follows directions the first time
- Actively participates in all activities
M - Meets standard (80-89)
- Making satisfactory progress in skill development
- Usually shows good sportsmanship/self-control
- Usually shows respect for others/teamwork
- Usually follows directions the first time
- Actively participates in most activities
P - Progressing toward standard (70-79)
- Needs more skill practice
- Sometimes shows good sportsmanship/self-control
- Sometimes shows respect for others/teamwork
- Sometimes follows directions
- Participates in some activities
L - Little or no progress toward standard (60-69)
- Shows little understanding of skills
- Rarely shows good sportsmanship/self-control
- Rarely shows respect for others/teamwork
- Rarely follows directions
- Rarely participates in activities
