As a native New Yorker, I lived the first 40 years of my life in the only place I knew as home, New York City, in particular, the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I loved my time in New York, but it was time to move on to "greener pastures".Â
As my wife and I are both public school teachers, we have had the luxury of sharing vacation time throughout our careers. As a result, we have become world travelers (before our twins where born in 2014). Located below are a few pictures I have taken of places we have visited, including: Florence, Rome, Venice and Pisa (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), Paris, Nice and Marseilles (France), Athens, Delos, Corfu and Mykonos (Greece), Copenhagen and Amsterdam (Netherlands), Costa Rica and Roatan, Honduras (Central America), and lastly, Maui (Hawaii)...to name a few.
During my first 5 years, I had been teaching Physical Education for the New York City Department of Education at the Eagle Academy for Young Men in the Tremont section of The Bronx. Eagle Academy is an all boys' public school which recently transitioned to service grades 6-12; as my license is for teaching Physical Education in grades K-12, I have been able to adapt my curriculum for younger students.
In addition to teaching Physical Education, Weight Training and Health, it has been my great pleasure to hold the position of Head Coach of both Varsity Baseball and Junior Varsity Basketball at Eagle, during which time the basketball team has twice won AA Bronx Division Championships, won the AA Bronx Borough Championship and finished as AA City Semi-finalists in the PSAL. I have also been both honored and humbled to be twice named Educator of the Year, in 2009 and 2013. Below are some of my highlights as a head coach in New York.
