Welcome! My name is Courtney Makis, and I’m proud to teach third through fifth grades at Woodland Elementary. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of teaching students from kindergarten through fifth grade and have worked with wonderful learners at Crestview and Hollis Elementary.
I’m a Clemson University graduate (Go Tigers!), where I earned both my undergraduate and master’s degrees in special education. In May 2006, I completed my Masters plus 30 hours in elementary education, which deepened my passion for helping students reach their potential.
Outside of school, I’m married to my husband, Jason, and we have two amazing children, Jada and CJ. Our home is full of energy (and a little mischief) thanks to our three cats, Kingsley, Thomas, and Olivia.
Teaching is one of my greatest joys, and I look forward to another wonderful year of learning and growing with my students.
Hi, friends! My name is Mrs. Amber Paris, and I am so excited to be part of the Woodland Elementary family. This is my third year teaching here, and it has been such a joy to watch my students learn, grow, and discover their unique talents each day. Teaching is truly my passion, and I love creating a classroom where students feel supported, encouraged, and excited about learning.
I’m married to my amazing husband, Justin, and together we have two wonderful boys, Stetson and Lawson, who keep life full of energy, laughter, and adventure. Our home is also shared with our playful dog, Bailey, and a small flock of backyard chickens who keep us entertained and well-supplied with fresh eggs.
Hello and welcome! My name is Amy Robertson, and I am so excited to be part of the Woodland Elementary family. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies from Carson-Newman University, where I developed a strong passion for working with children and supporting families in their educational journey.
I am the proud mom of two wonderful girls, Kathryn and Sarah, who keep life busy and full of laughter. Our family also includes our sweet dog, Charlie, who loves to play and always greets us with a wagging tail.
I am truly passionate about helping each child discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop a love for learning. My goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where students feel safe to try new things, take risks, and grow both academically and personally.
I’m thrilled to be at Woodland Elementary and can’t wait to get to know your child and work together to ensure their success. It’s going to be a great year filled with learning, growth, and lots of memorable moments!
