Recorders are a great way for students to learn more about reading music and to enjoy playing songs on their own or with others.  We use recorders in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.  

This year we are using the music company Sweet Pipes to order recorders.  Visit their website and select Skyland Elementary to order your child's instrument.  No need to order any of the optional accessories, but you may choose to donate an instrument.  The deadline for orders is Friday, January 23.  They will ship all recorders to Skyland, so you save shipping costs.  We will distribute recorders as soon as they arrive.  

Students can find practice songs in their Quaver Assignments section under "Skyland Recorder Karate". 

We encourage students to practice at home so that they can make progress and enjoy playing favorite songs!
