Students are offered the opportunity to register to take either the ACT or the SAT in their Junior or Senior year free of charge at the high school. Keep an eye out for registration forms being sent out.
Below you will find information to better assist in which test may be better for your student to take.
The SAT is made up of 3 parts:
Critical Reading (200-800)
Mathematics (200-800)
Writing (200-800) – optional
Tests 5 areas – English, Math, Reading, Science & Writing
Writing section is optional – TAKE IT at least once (ACT or SAT writing)
Individual Scores for each section (0-36)
Composite Score – overall score –average of English, Math, Reading & Science (writing not included)
Students have access to standardized test prep resources in their Backpack Portals. In Education Apps, go to Prepmedians for test preparation for the SAT or ACT as well as help with academic courses.
