What is the purpose of the Carowinds Trip?
Each year, the Bryson Middle School Fine Arts Department aims to provide students with opportunities to perform outside of the walls of the school building. Doing so allows students to perform for a variety of audiences, including the surrounding community, outside adjudicators, teachers, other students, and many more. In this trip, students will experience what it is like to travel as a musician, learning how to safely transport instruments and perform in a different venue for judges. Surrounding the performance, students will be able to enjoy the day in the amusement park with chaperoned groups.
How are students assessed?
The students' performance will receive one of five ratings: Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor. Judges will be paying special attention to the ensemble's tone, intonation, rhythmic precision, musical effect, performance positon, and formal presentation. Each of the categories listed above will be judged on a scale of 1-5.
