Mission
Provide 9th grade students content knowledge/skill development via a consistent set of classroom procedures, student behavior expectations and wrap-around supports that leads to high academic achievement, on-time graduation and post-high school success.
Goals
Improve the promotion rate to 10th grade.
Improve pass rates in Algebra 1 and English 1.
Prepare students to be college- and career-ready by the end of 11th grade.
Facilitate students' involvement in extra-curricular activities.
The Freshman Academy at Berea High School is a small learning community that strives to provide an environment that advances the success of each 9th grade student. We provide strategic support to freshmen from a team of teachers and staff devoted to building structures, systems and supports which facilitate the transition from middle to high school.
