Summer School 2022

Summer School information

Students that fail certain core courses (Math, English, Social Studies, and Science) that may prevent them from being promoted to the next grade level or graduating, are invited to attend Summer School. Summer School will be at Berea High School and will operate Monday - Thursday, from June 20- June 30 AND July 11- July 21. Classes begin at 9:00 am and will end at 1:30 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be served and will be provided for free to all students. Bus transportation will be provided to students needing this service. Bus transportation MUST be requested by May 20, 2022.

The Google form below should be submitted by May 20, 2022 to ensure your student is enrolled.

While attending Summer School, students are expected to comply with the rules and procedures listed in the Berea High School Student Handbook.

Steps to Enroll in Summer School

  1. Complete the Enrollment Form for credit recovery below if you previously failed the course. Complete the Enrollment form for initial credit below if this is your first time taking the course OR you failed due to absences.

  2. Create an account on the Virtual SC website. Write down your user name and password!

  3. Request your course in your Virtual SC account by June 8!

Summer School 2022 CREDIT RECOVERY Enrollment Form (Use this form if you previously FAILED the course)

Summer School 2022 INITIAL CREDIT Enrollment Form (Use this form if this is your FIRST TIME taking the course OR you failed with an Failure due to Absences (FA) OR an Honors level course.

*Must complete Google form by May 20, 2022 for summer school bus transportation*

class details

-Students will be enrolled in the VirtualSC program, but a face-to-face teacher will be present to offer instruction and guidance.

-Students can take up to two courses at a time.

-Students have until August 1, 2022 to complete all coursework, but in-person instruction and guidance will not be available after July 21, 2022.

-Students may not have more than two unexcused absences and/or three unexcused tardies. Further unexcused absences or tardies may result in removal from the Summer School Program.

-Students must follow all school rules and procedures at all times.

-Bus transportation for students can only be guaranteed if the registration form is submitted by May 20, 2022.

Daily schedule

8:30-8:55 - Arrival/Breakfast

8:55 - Release to class

9:00-11:00 - Session 1

11:00-11:30 - Lunch

11:30-1:30 - Session 2

1:30 - Dismissal

Exams

VirtualSC Initial Credit courses require an in-person exam at BHS on August 2, 2022 at 9:00am. Please be on-time and bring your charged Chromebook. You must complete a required online survey in your course before you take your exam.
