There are two types of interventions: classroom interventions, or Early Intervening Services (EIS).
1. Classroom interventions are one or more strategies that the classroom teacher uses to help promote good sounds or good language in the classroom. This typically is for students who show a very mild need in the speech and language area.
2. EIS (Early Intervening Services) is for students who show a mild need in sound development or language ability. For students with one or two sounds in error, or a mild language need, the speech language pathologist will pull the student into hallway to drill them in their needed area for a few minutes 2-3 times a week.
For students who will potentially receive EIS, parents will be notified and will have the right to decline these services.
