Director

Ms. Skiles is finishing her sixth year as the band and choir director at McKell Middle School in South Shore, Kentucky. Ms. Skiles holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Morehead State University (Spring 2017).  She is currently a National Board Certification for Teachers [NBCT] candidate. She currently serves as the Technology Chair for KMEA District 8 (2023-2025), and was previously the Middle School Band Chair (2021-2023).

Ms. Skiles is a two-time Kentucky Department of Education/Valvoline Teacher Achievement Award winner (2021, 2022), and the KMEA District 8 Middle School Music Teacher of the Year (2019-2020, 2021-2022). Additionally, she represented Greenup County Public Schools as their middle school division recipient of Campbellsville University's "Excellence in Teaching Award" (Spring 2020). 

Her professional affiliations include the:  National Association for Music Education [NAFME], Kentucky Music Educators Association [KMEA], Women Band Directors International [WBDI], Southeastern Theater Conference [SETC], and National Society of Collegiate Scholars [NSCS] (Alumna).
