Performance must center around famous activists or historical moments of activism in history.

Overview:
A minimum of two (2) team members must compete in this section
Teams must perform an existing or original performance piece (e.g. song, poem, skit, monologue, one act or scene etc.) centered around the topic.
Scoring will be based on: Knowledge/ understanding of the theme, showmanship/ presentation, clarity. 3 minutes maximum for each piece.
Teams must demonstrate clear knowledge of the subject matter and its impact on society
NEW FOR 2024: The Performance Piece portion of the Knowledge Bowl is its own heat, where all teams will be present for the round.
What happens in the event of a tie?
Answer: In the event of a tie, the judge and event host will re-score the performances and determine a winner.
Performance Piece FAQ's
How long can my performance piece be?
Answer: You have a total of 3 minutes. Going over the time limit will incur a penalty of a 1 point deduction.
What can I actually perform?
Answer: A performance piece can be an existing or original performance piece: acted skit, poem, song, monologue
What criteria will our teams be scored on?
Answer: A performance will be scored on the following, but not limited to the following criteria: Knowledge/ understanding of the theme, showmanship/ presentation, clarity.
Can we bring props to use as part of our performance piece?
Answer: Yes! Anything that enhances and helps drive the message behind the performance piece is welcomed.
