About our program

Averaging more than 160 students a year, the EGMS Band is one of the largest middle school bands in West Virginia. Our performance groups include the 6th Grade Beginner band, 7th and 8th grade Concert Bands, Marching Band, and Jazz Band. Under the direction of Mr. Carr and Mr. Graves, the band has achieved consistent superior ratings at the state level and has earned the Esprit de Corps award three times, an award not for onstage performance, but for offstage spirit, citizenship, and leadership.
