WELCOME to one of the most exciting experiences in which you can be a part – THE BAND! The goal of the band program is to provide our students with a lifelong understanding and appreciation for quality music and music making. In addition, we get to use the medium of music to teach some wonderful life lessons as part of our comprehensive program here at Eastern Greenbrier Middle School.

Marching Band Contracts
It's already time to start thinking about next year! Marching Band conctracts were passed out to the students today. Below sign and return these to the school by the last day of school (end of this week is preferred). Click the link below for the full contract which includes the full schedule including summer dates. PLEASE NOTE: we previously announced incorrect summer dates, below you will find the correct dates.
King's Island Final Details
The King's Island trip is almost here! Parents and guardians, please go over this information with your child and make sure they understand everything that is expected.

GCS Showcase Information!
This Friday the 1st is our annual Greenbrier County Schools Showcase! This features the best of our schools' art and music students! Around 30 EGMS Band students have been selected to participate, but anyone is welcome to come watch! Full details below:
Ratings! April 23rd!
The 7th and 8th grade band will be attending our annual ratings performance. This is for ALL 2nd/3rd year 7th and 8th students (not just marching band students). Permission forms will be handed out shortly. See below for details.
Annual Raffle Fundraiser for 7th and 8th grade King's Island Trip
Our annual raffle fundraiser has begun! The students were sent home with tickets. The date of the drawing is listed on the ticket; all money and tickets are due two weeks before the drawing date. Every ticket is $5 which goes directly towards the student’s individual trip (so you may subtract the cost from any of your payments). It is possible to raise money for the entire trip with this one fundraiser (many students have done this in the past). Extra money sold will count as spending money for the trip. Good luck!

All marching band members are eligible for the end of the year trip to King's Island on May 15-17! Please make sure this contract is completed and returned when we get back to school.

Here are some dates for the remainder of the year planning purposes. Information for each event will be posted here as we get closer to the event.
- Solo and Ensemble - February 7th (snow date February 14th)
- Deadline for Carnegie’s One Night Only Recordings due - February 15th
- All-State Band and Orchestra (select 7th and 8th only) - March 5th and 6th
- Carnegie’s One Night Only - All students and parents welcome to attend - March 13th
- Regional Honor Band (select 7th and 8th only) - March 20th-21st
- Ratings Performance in Beckley (All 7th and 8th grade only) - April 22nd or 23rd
- Music and Art Showcase (select 7th and 8th only) - May 1st
- Spring Concert (All band students) - May 7th
- King's Island End of Year Trip (Marching Band students only) - May 15th-17th
