STORY-ACT – Stories for Change: Empowering Youth Voices – is a 15-month Erasmus+ project that helps young people use storytelling and digital media as tools for civic engagement, inclusion and social change. The project includes three international mobilities (Austria, Romania, Türkiye), local workshops and a European digital storytelling campaign.
Young people aged 18–30 from Austria, Romania, Türkiye and Spain can apply through the partner organisations. We especially welcome participants with fewer opportunities (economic, social, cultural or geographic barriers). Motivation to learn and to participate actively is more important than previous experience.
No. You do not need to be a filmmaker, podcaster or writer. The project is designed for beginners as well as for those who already have some experience. Trainers will guide you step by step through the creative and technical processes.
The project includes:
• Mobility 1 – Vienna, Austria: “The Art of Storytelling for Change” (personal stories & digital tools)
• Mobility 2 – Cluj-Napoca, Romania: “Storytelling in Action” (stories for advocacy & social change)
• Mobility 3 – Istanbul, Türkiye: Study Visit on Civic Storytelling (community practices & organisations)
• Local follow-up workshops and storytelling clubs in each country
• A digital storytelling campaign with podcasts, videos, blogs and social media content.
Each partner organisation runs an open call for participants. You will usually complete an online application form where you describe your motivation, interests and any relevant experience. Some organisations may also organise a short online interview. The final group is selected to ensure motivation, diversity and a balance between countries and genders.
The working language of the project is English. You do not need perfect grammar, but you should be able to understand basic instructions, participate in group activities and express your ideas. Trainers and peers will support you, and we encourage a patient and inclusive communication style.
