Shared Devices

**Shared Chromebooks, Laptops or Desktops in most classrooms have been removed and are not approved for use.**

It is well documented that computer keyboards, touchscreens, and mice can easily spread germs between people when shared. For that reason there will be no shared extra classroom Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, desktops, etc except in the following specific cases where cleaning between each use is maintained.

  • Technology/Art/Business labs using specialized software

  • Library kiosks

  • Self-contained Special education rooms where hygienic routines regarding these devices can be maintained.

  • Intervention services using SPECIALIZED tools not available on student Chromebooks as approved by administration.

  • Other areas specifically approved by administration

In all the above cases, surfaces of the shared devices (screen, keyboard, mice, trackpad, etc) must be wiped down between each use with a soft cloth moistened with the district approved non-ammonia cleaning solution, available from school custodian.
