Greece Central School District policies and regulations regulate the use and selection of Instructional Materials (texts, media, and digital resources such as websites, software, extensions, app, etc).
Per these policies and NYS Education Law 2-d, staff members may NOT use unapproved digital resource that meet any of the following criteria:
1. requires installation on a district device, OR
2. collects any personally identifiable information (last name, email, id, address, pictures/videos, personal questions, biometrics, etc). This includes any resource requiring individual student accounts or the potential to individually create accounts, OR
3. exposes students to advertising.
PROCESS FOR REQUESTING ACCESS/APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

We’ll gladly help you make the most of the digital tools we already offer. If we don’t currently have the perfect match for your needs, please follow these steps:
If the resource you'd like to add to the list meets ANY of the 3 criteria above:
Contact your curriculum leader to first evaluate the digital resource request and ensure it aligns with GCSD curriculum and NYS Standards.
If the curriculum leader approves the resource, they will then complete the Digital Resource Purchasing and Implementation Plan form (only available to leaders) which gives TSS the information needed to assess it from a technical and legal point of view. This process can take time and applies to both FREE and PAID resources.
Please be advised that all new resource considerations are postponed from June 1st until October 1st. This pause gives TSS time to onboard resources processed last year that will become active during the start of the school year.
If the resource does NOT involve criteria 1, 2, or 3 listed above but is only blocked by our web filter, complete a "Blocked Site/Resource" request at webhelpdesk.greececsd.org. Sign in with your network credentials. If we determine that the resource does involve any of the criteria, you will be redirected to the process above.
