Student Teacher Cayleb Leclerc came from Castleton University and is working with Mrs. Ryan with the hope of eventually teaching math in his hometown in Terryville, Connecticut.
“I like Proctor because I can get to know the students,” Leclerc says. The small size is something he says he is looking for in a school. Although he likes Proctor, he dislikes the parking lot because of the speed people go through it.
“Ms. Ryan is my favorite part of Proctor,” says Leclerc. He says she is helpful by letting him take control of the class and teach in a way in which he feels comfortable.
Mr. Leclercs's dream of being a teacher sprung up from being surrounded by many educators. His parents are both teachers, as well as various other relatives. He also credits the amazing math teachers who made him fall in love with math during his freshman year of high school.
Leclerc originally went to Castleton University to become a math teacher and wrestle but after two years, he lost his love for wrestling and re-focused his attention on academics. He says that Dr. Raija and Sue Generazzo are accommodating and inspiring professors who are available to help at any time.
Leclerc spends most of his time outside school with friends doing various things such as playing video games like Overwatch 2 and doing 2k and UFC tournaments. He and his friends also go skiing and hiking at Killington and do jiu-jitsu tournaments as most of them wrestle or have in the past. Leclerc also likes to watch movies: action and comedies are his favorite genres. His favorite movies are Talladega Night and Step Brothers.
