Kelly McGee is the new school librarian, but he also is going to be running the theater and video production program. His goals for this year are to keep the theater program running, improve the library, and start a video production program.
"I went into library science because I enjoyed helping people find information," Mr. McGee says.
This is Mr. McGee’s first year at Proctor Jr./Sr. High School, but not his first year teaching. He worked at Rutland Town school for 5 years and at a school in Michigan for 15 years before that.
Mr. McGee was born in Dumont, New Jersey. He and his parents moved to Springfield, Vermont when he was 7 years old. He attended Springfield High School. During his time at Springfield High, he played basketball for 4 years.
He went to college for 4 years, where he majored in theater production. He also has a minor in communication. "Theater, like reading, can give people unique perspectives and experiences," Mr. McGee says.
He looks forward to directing the “Mean Girls” play that is coming up. This will be the first play of the year. Auditions will be held October 8th from 1-5pm in the PrHS gym. The first showing of the play will be on December 3rd, 2023 @7pm.
