On Saturday, September 23, Senior Isabel Greb scored her 89th career goal vs their rival West Rutland, although the Proctor girls lost 3-1 in a hard fought battle.
Isabel describes the target of 100 goals as “a lot of pressure, I just have to keep playing the way I have been.”
Despite Isabel's goal, she is 11 away from 100. However, the Phantoms couldn't stop the Golden Horde from scoring. Junior Kennah Wright-Chapman scored the first goal for Golden Horde tying the game 1-1. The Proctor girls were without their starter goalie, Cadence Goodwin, as she was out with a concussion, so they had backup Haley Gipe in goal.
“We definitely have had some ups and downs but we work hard,” Isabel said. “We have new players, not many of them have played.”
West Rutland Sophomore Hailey Raiche scored the go ahead goal before the half which ended up being her first Varsity goal. Wright-Chapman then scored her second and the final goal of the game to take the lead up to 3-1. A few days later, the girls matched up against the Eagles of Arlington in another rivalry. They ended up losing this game 5-1, with Sophomore Emma Palmer putting in the only goal for the Phantoms.
“They are a hard working team, they are very dedicated and they always give 100 percent,” Senior Olivia Gianni said.
Even though the girls have been struggling, they are 4th ranked in Division 4, and are looking forward to the future and what they can do heading deeper into the season.
