Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)

Mission Statement

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is encouraged in the sixth form. It is an opportunity for students to delve deeper and to research and conclude on something which interests them. The EPQ provides opportunity for students to develop their skills in dependent learning, research and presentation. The EPQ can take many forms from performance to a simple presentation of findings. The EPQ allows students to demonstrate their interest in a chosen field when applying to universities or school leaver programmes. Students are introduced to the EPQ in March of Year 12 with the majority of the research taking place during the summer of Year 12. The project is completed and presented during the first term of Year 13.
