Family & Community Engagement (FACE) Best Practices Checklist
Use this checklist to reflect on and strengthen family engagement at your school.
We have a Family & Community Engagement (FACE) Team that includes
teachers administrators, staff, and families.
Our FACE Team meets regularly (at least once a month).
We use our school goals to create and guide our Family
Engagement Plan.
Our school has a Family Engagement Plan or Compact that:
Clearly communicates our school goals to families
Explains why these goals matter
Lists ways families can support learning at home
Is written in family-friendly language
What family engagement opportunities are you planning for parents to support your goals? Do these
opportunities provide a clear link to student learning that aligns with the school–family compact?
Our staff has participated in FACE training provided by the District FACE Department.
Training is targeted to meet our school’s specific needs.
We collect feedback from families using district-provided, research-based survey questions.
The District FACE Team analyzes and shares survey results with our school.
Our FACE Team reviews the data and develops an action plan to strengthen engagement.
We know where to find additional FACE resources and tools.
Visit the District FACE website homepage for more information.
