Supplies

The art department does receive a budget for supplying our classes. Most of that goes toward large material, tool, paint etc purchases for the class projects. Students still need to have their personal binder supplies.

There is always a need for certain items that seem to run in short supply throughout the year. Should you wish to help, these are items the art rooms are ALWAYS needing:

  • Tissues

  • Paper towels

  • Sharpies (black fine/ultra fine)

  • Erasers

  • Rulers

  • Pencils

  • Hand Soap (not sanitizer)

  • Old Rags/Towels

We will be using a sketchbook semi-daily. These will be required for every art student in my class. They do not need to be large, the smaller ones are perfectly fine. I prefer the Canson XL sketchbooks. The light blue small one pictured above is my favorite. Avoid watercolor paper; it is too expensive and unnecessary for sketching.

These are available at Walmart, Target, Michaels and Amazon. Hardbound are better, but heavy-duty spiral bound is fine as well. Size should be around 8 by 10 inches or less with at least 50-100 pages. They should not be more than $10. Please, no tape or glue bound because they have a tendency to fall apart.
