Math Assessment Module 1 on Tuesday, Sep 12.

Have a great weekend.

Aug 27 - Sep 1

Aslamu alikum,,

Thank you for coming to Back to School Night. I uploaded the PowerPoint for Back to School Night at the top

Students had a very busy week, in ELA, they read the story "A Fine, Fine School". Students reviewed the story structure and practiced their phonics and spelling words. They started to get into their daily routine.

In Math, students counted equal groups, drew, and used counters and colored arrays. They added and, multiplied by using repeated addition. They had daily Math drills. They learned how to write a multiplication equation, and how to explain it.

In Science, students learned what is a scientific method, by observing the reaction of vinegar and baking soda.

In Social Studies, they learned how to draw a compass rose, and watched a video about the continents.

The visit of the Fire Fighter's Truck to our school today, was very beneficial. Students discussed several scenarios of when to dial 911, and shared stories of their own experience. They went inside the fire truck and had a tour. I hope they shared some of the topics with the families.

Google emails and passwords:

The school admin resets all passwords, please do not change them as we will be assessing all students starting Tuesday September 5th.

Have a great long weekend.

Aug 16 - Aug 25

Students of 3A are working very hard to adjust to our daily schedule. They worked in pairs and groups talking and discussing what they did during summer, and playing group games as well. They started to add and subtract in fact's drill which they really enjoyed. They read many stories and discussed the characters, setting, and plot. I assessed the whole class this week in Math and Reading. Next week, we will start with our curriculum.

Waiting to see you all on Wednesday 30th August - Back to School Night.

Important Days:

Picture Day is on Monday 28th August.

Aslamu Alikum,

I am excited to be teaching your child, I hope your child will learn and explore new techniques in all subjects. Please read the welcome letter on Google Site for 3A with your child. All teachers who will be teaching your child are on the home page, take your time to introduce them to your child.

            Important Tips:

** Make sure to bring all supplies to school on Wednesday. It’s easier to purchase a reusable water bottle and lunch bag.

** Your child will use their emails, make sure he/she knows their school email and password as we will be using it to log in to Raz-kids and I-ready.

**  Place ALL supplies and books in one large box labeled. Then, label the box with the student's name on it and the classroom. They will be sorting their own supplies, so it's better to have them in a box rather than separately or in a reusable bag. Bring that on Wednesday morning.

** I am sending a homework sheet to all parents, please fill it out and send it back on Thursday.

       See you on Wednesday, inshallah.

        Ms. Mona
