Assalamu Alaikum,
Insha’Allah you are well. Alhamdulillah, our class is beginning to settle into a routine, and things are calming down. I wanted to share a few important reminders with you:
No Nuts, Sesame, or Avocado in the Classroom
KB is a nut-free zone due to student allergies. Please do not send any nuts, nut products, sesame, or avocados. If these are seen, the food will be set aside for the safety of all students.WhatsApp Group
If you haven’t joined our KB WhatsApp group yet, please use this link: KB WhatsApp Group.Morning Drop-Off
Parents, please do not enter the classroom during drop-off. Kindly allow students to carry and wear their own backpacks, as we are encouraging independence. No Toy Policy
Students may only bring toys on Fridays. Toys must be inside their backpacks upon entering the classroom and may not be electronic. Toys brought on other days will be placed in the “May Box,” as they can be a distraction in class.Snacks & Lunch
Sugary or highly processed snacks and lunches are not allowed. If sent, they will be held until the end of the day. Students should bring one healthy lunch and two nutritious snacks (except on Wednesdays: one lunch and one snack). Please try to include a serving of fruit for the morning snack.Lunch Bags
All lunches and snacks must be in a lunch bag with a zipper and handle to prevent spills and help students easily locate their food. Please avoid glass containers, as they may break and pose a safety risk.Homework
Homework will begin after Back-to-School Night (8/27/2025). I'll share more details at that time.Tardy Policy
Students may be dropped off as early as 7:30 am, where they will wait in the hallway until classrooms open at 7:45 am. School and first period start promptly at 8:00 am. Here is the Elementary Tardy Policy (KG–4th Grade):
After 5 tardies: Parents will receive an email from the office.
After 7 tardies: A meeting will be scheduled.
After 10+ tardies: The grade for the first-period subject will drop by 10%, and a note will be added to the report card.
Pick-Up
For KG, written permission is required if someone other than a parent will pick up your child. Even for last-minute changes, please email me directly before dismissal. This policy ensures the safety of all students—thank you for understanding and cooperating.Patience & Boundaries
Please encourage your child to respect boundaries and use kind hands, feet, and words. Hitting is not allowed under any circumstances. If another student upsets or hurts them, they are taught to raise their hand (palm up) and say, “Stop, I do not like that.” If the student doesn't drop and/or apologize, they should notify the child about the matter. Be patient with all stuedents as they are still learning. Your child’s safety is always my priority. Please do not hesitate to share any concerns with me—I truly appreciate working together to make this year a positive, memorable experience for your child.
JazakAllahu Khairan for your cooperation and support. I look forward to a wonderful year ahead, insha’Allah.
Warm regards,
Ms. Amanie
