SAAC Code of Conduct
SAAC CODE OF CONDUCT
SAAC Expectations
All SAAC schools have mission statements that speak of high academic expectations and high expectations for character development and community building. We believe extra-curricular trips demand an increased layer of behavioral expectations and that the elements of risk are heightened for teachers, administrators, parents, students and for the school due to the elevated risk inherent in taking numbers of students off campus.
Given the above, we believe a set of core consequences that reflect the above understandings and expectations communicates the strength of this belief and helps our schools address infractions and violations consistently.
Level I Infractions include the following but are not limited to:
Violation of Drug/Alcohol Policy
Violation of Violent Behavior
Violation of Tobacco Policy
Level II Infractions include the following but are not limited to:
Violation of Curfew
Leaving any SAAC venue without proper supervision
Poor Sportsmanship or Behavior
Level I/II Consequences can include the following but are not limited to:
A student could be sent home which will be at the parent's expense. (LI)
The student could be excluded from all future tournaments/events for a period of one year from the date of the infraction, including the same tournament/event the following year. (LI)
The student could be excluded from the next tournament/event in which they would be eligible to participate/represent their school. (LI)
The student could be declared ineligible for further participation in the event (Tournament or Fine Arts Festival). This would include games, dances, and awards ceremonies. (LI/LII)
The student could be declared ineligible for participation in the next scheduled game. (LII)
**** IMPORTANT: A full, detailed online copy of the SAAC Code of Conduct will be provided by each school’s Athletics & Activities Director. Students and Parents are responsible for reviewing and agreeing to abide by all SAAC Code of Conduct Rules in advance of any SAAC Events.
