Art has always been a powerful medium of resistance, expression, and celebration — and with Paint the City Rainbow, we’re reclaiming public spaces with queer pride and visibility.
Through this initiative, Gandhinagar Queer Pride Foundation gave Gujarat its first-ever openly queer-themed art mural, right in the heart of Ahmedabad. It wasn’t just paint on a wall — it was a bold, beautiful declaration that queer lives, love, and stories belong here.
Each mural celebrates the vibrant diversity of our community while also sparking important conversations around acceptance, identity, and inclusion. The colours of the rainbow aren’t just symbolic — they’re a statement that queerness cannot and will not be erased.
Edition 1: Gujarat’s first queer mural was unveiled in Ahmedabad, marking a historic moment for visibility in a state that often sidelines queer voices.
Edition 2: Building on that momentum, our second mural took the message further — reaching more people, more hearts, and more minds.
More Coming Soon: We're not stopping here. New walls, new messages, new stories — Paint the City Rainbow will continue to bring queer art to public spaces across Gujarat.
Where to see these murals?

This project is not just about visibility — it’s about belonging. When young queer folks walk by these murals and see themselves represented, they know they are not alone.
