"I think I'll always draw from being a person that doesn't know how to have a normal life, whatever a normal life is."

- Mary Gauthier

Dear Parents & Guardians - I will be updating this website weekly to provide you with printable work for your kids. Again, there is no pressure to do this work and I want to provide you resources without overwhelming you with too much. Take what you can use and leave the rest! Your feedback is very valuable to me, so please email me with questions, any resources you need, games, etc. I have a ton of material I can provide you and your family, so please let me know what you are looking for!

Daily Check-In form - click here to see the Daily Check-In form. Students should fill out this form every day that they do school work (or work on projects outside of school that show learning).

Google Classroom - most of the work of the classroom goes on in here. For parents & guardians, if you would like to be sent a summary of your student's upcoming assignments and progress in the Google Classroom, e-mail me and I can sign you up for Guardian Summaries.

How to Navigate this Website - by the tabs at the top of the page:

  • Math Practice - this part of the website will be used to provide your child with a limited amount of daily practice. Your child should be able to complete this work independently. I am also updating the Google Classroom daily with engaging online activities and podcasts, but I also wanted to make sure I am providing daily practice as well.
  • Student Resources - this part of the website is your students to use if they get stuck on a concept. These are anchor charts in Mrs. Marchefka's classroom for them to use - they are familiar with them and should be able to help if they get stuck. You can also ask your child to explain each one and have them teach you about that topic - getting kids to talk about the process is really important and a great skill for them to keep up!
  • Reading - this part of the website gives you some ideas as to how to keep your child reading.
  • Science - this part of the website is devoted to online access for students to listen to podcasts or visit science websites that I have curated based on topic. Students are familiar with the "Science Interactives" google sheet and know how to navigate this. They can also access this document from their google science classroom.
  • Family Resources - this part of the website is for you to learn a little bit about math progression from early development of number sense through 6th grade. I will be updating this section when I come across things that you might find useful. Please let me know what you want to see in this section and I will do the research and link articles, lessons, etc.
