We are seeking Strategic Plan Committee Members
A strategic plan is a roadmap for the district's next three to five years. It describes where the community wants the district to go and sets goals to help it get there. A clear plan gives the Board of Education, school leaders, and staff a shared direction, so decisions about learning, programs, and resources work toward the same goals.
Glassboro's plan will be built through a process called 3R Strategic Planning: Reflect, Reimagine, and Recalibrate. The New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA), a statewide organization that works with local school boards, will lead the process. As an outside facilitator, NJSBA guides each conversation, records what participants share, and compiles the results. This keeps the process open, so the plan reflects the community's ideas rather than conclusions decided in advance.
The work takes place over three sessions this winter. Each session includes a short presentation, group discussion, and time to share ideas with the full room. Participants are asked to attend all three sessions, because each one builds on the one before.
SESSION 1 · THURSDAY, JANUARY 21, 2027
Reflect
Where are we now?
The session opens with a State of the District presentation, a short overview of where the district stands today. Participants then discuss the district's strengths, along with the challenges and opportunities ahead.
SESSION 2 · THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2027
Reimagine
Where do we want to be?
Participants look three to five years ahead and describe the district they hope to see. This includes a Portrait of a Learner: the skills and qualities the community hopes students will have when they leave Glassboro schools.
SESSION 3 · TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2027
Recalibrate
How will we get there?
Participants turn ideas into direction. Building on the first two sessions, they help shape the goal statements and objectives that will form the core of the plan.
SESSION INFORMATION
Time: All Session will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Location: Glassboro High School Media Center [Map]
A strong plan reflects the whole community. The Strategic Planning Committee will bring together parents and guardians, staff, students, community members, and members of the Board of Education. Each group sees the district from a different angle: what's working, what could be better, and what matters most for the future.
District leaders take part mainly to listen. The Superintendent typically moves among the discussions to hear ideas firsthand, and board members who join the conversation help make sure every voice is heard.
No special knowledge or preparation is needed. What matters most is your experience and your ideas.
Space is limited to keep discussions small, so we'll invite participants from everyone who shares their interest. Please share your interest by Friday, November 20, 2026.
After each session, NJSBA compiles what participants shared, and the district will post a summary on the Meetings page. Anyone can follow the work, whether or not they're on the committee.
After the third session, NJSBA will prepare a final report. District leaders will then develop action plans that describe the specific steps, people, resources, and timelines for each goal, along with how progress will be measured. The Strategic Plan will be presented to the Board of Education in spring 2027.
A strategic plan is meant to be used, not shelved. Once adopted, its goals help guide the work of the Board, school leaders, and staff, and the district will share updates on progress.
This website will grow with the process: session summaries this winter, the final plan in the spring, and progress updates after that.
