Salt Into Water Lab
What is the relationship between how much Magnesium Sulfate is dissolved in water and the change in temperature of the water?
What is the relationship between how much Magnesium Sulfate is dissolved in water and the change in temperature of the water?
Each cup to the left contains 50mL of tap water. The containers in front of the cups contain 4.0g, 8.0g, 12.0g, 16.0g and 20.0g of MgSO4, respectively.
Here's a video of the 4.0g sample so you can see it in action.
Graph of 4.0g trial below. Determine the change in temperature of the water. The data table shows the last few data points. You'll need to read the initial temperature from the graph.
Graph of 8.0g trial below. Determine the change in temperature of the water as you did with the 4.0g sample. Again, the data table shows the last few data points. Note: The initial temperatures are a little different in each trial!
Graph of 12.0g trial below. Again, the initial temperatures are a little different in each trial!
Graph of 16.0g trial below. Again, the initial temperatures are a little different in each trial!
Graph of 20.0g trial below. Again, the initial temperatures are a little different in each trial!
