The Upgoing Rocket of Burgers and Fries
By Jorge Ortiz
In a small town in New Hampshire,
Two brothers are born,
Destined to make millions
As soon as the bag is torn.
From a house of cardboard,
Success is made.
To the top of the leaderboard,
With nobody’s aid.
As poor as they were,
There rise was a surprise.
As fast as their service they rose
Their better service is what the people chose.
Though this is what they have become,
This is not were they began from.
Dreaming of movie-making,
Their failure was depressing.
To open their stand,
Their theater must have blown up.
To open their stand,
They had to get up.
A cheap little stand they sure were,
But their success was reassured.
Plummeting like a rocket to the sky,
Their business continued to fly.
Though they were great sellers,
They knew they could get better.
So they closed up their toll,
And came up with a new roll.
Higher ranked at a faster pace,
Their opponents were not ready.
Coming in at a faster pace,
Their sales were up and steady.
What is this speed?
How so fast?
With the Speedee Service system,
You won’t come in last.
Though they took a bit to recover,
They resumed their run.
Though they took a bit to recover,
They came back to number one.
Alas they remain the best,
Inspiring many of today.
The food puts your mouth attest,
For their food is not just an “okay.”
Richard and Maurice,
Two brothers of gold.
Though their legends are old,
Today their stand still stands strong and bold.
