Semester I:
We are SO BACK! We practice our TMEA songs daily now, and since choir is more advanced, we are more experienced and are way better than last year. I am EXCITED!
District Auditions: Sep 13:
The songs were so simple this year. I practiced every day, and got as ready as I could. Auditioned, and ended up in a secure spot of FIRST CHAIR!!! That's SEVEN spots above last year's district Auditions!
Region Auditions: Oct 20:
Okay, my improvement from one year to the next is insane. I do wish I could come here and type out how i got 1st chair two times in a row, but I was one off. I got 2nd, but STILL, that's 8 chairs up from last year's region! So I am back to where I was last year.
Pre-Area Auditions: Dec 4:
For comparison, last year I got 7th chair, so my TMEA run was over for good, since only the top 5 move on. I recently found out there are 4 rounds total, when I thought there were 5. This year, I entered the auditions, and because of my sightreading mess-ups, I thought for sure I was done for the year again, because I feel as if I didn't do my best. Still, I somehow placed myself right back to where I was before at a whopping 2nd chair, so unlike last year, my run is NOT over, and I shall move on to the final round. I moved up 5 chairs from last year.
Area Auditions: Jan 10:
I didn't make it to this point last year, so this is all new to me, and I feel very nervous about these next auditions. But I have gotten top 2 every audition prior to this, so I'm feeling good. This does not necessarily mean i'm confident I will make it, but I at least know I won't do that bad. This is my chance to make All-State and be one of the first in GP in 8 years... so wish me luck!
