Together We Can Make a Change
Violence has sadly changed just about everything at schools. We have to carry clear backpacks, and wear uniforms, and parents cannot come into the school like they used to all the time. Plus all the classroom doors are kept locked and we have to use an app to get a pass to the restroom. Everything about the school is different now if people are able to prevent more changes to our school life.
The main causes of teen violence are mental issues and violent behavior. To prevent teen violence from continuing to affect our lives at school, I know teens have to learn how to deal with their feelings and problems. Mental issues can cause youth violence because when the kids are not thinking straight they might cause violence. They will also have a low patience level so when someone messes with this person, they will get mad easily. Violent behavior also is a big part of youth violence. Violent behavior can cause bullying and hurting other people. Violent behavior causes fights during school. Another big cause of youth violence is the neighborhoods and communities these kids live in. Suppose kids in good and healthy communities get along. I can infer what happens to the kids in the bad communities. The bad communities influence these kids that doing bad stuff is a good thing to do. So these kids will bring that influential stuff from home to school and do bad things to kids and to themselves.
Bad Communities
Social Media
Depression
People back then used to be always on social media to stay connected with everyone. The problem is that a lot of bullying happens on social media. Not being at school also kept kids from getting help from counselors. They did not learn how to talk about their feelings or problems. Now that we are back in school we should start having lessons that get kids to talk to each other more. That might help all the lonely kids feel go away and get kids to stop bullying each other on social media.
If we do not help teens feel less lonely and depressed, they will start to get angry. That will lead to mental issues and more violent episodes at school. That means more school shootings, suicides, and bullying. If parents and schools do not do anything to help kids who feel alone, they will turn to drugs, gangs, and social media. If we all come together to help teens learn the right way to deal with their feelings and mental problems, maybe we can help reduce or stop the amount of teen violence in and out of school. It is always angry kids that turn to violence in schools. That is why we need to do something to change how they feel.
I am grateful that youth violence has only affected changes in how my school day looks, but I can tell it is affecting my friends. Some kids are scared when we have the drills at school because they think it's real. Other kids are being bullied at school but they do not tell anybody about it. The teachers make it hard to talk to our friends during the day so kids still feel alone. I just hope things will get better soon so we do not end up with metal detectors and more rules at school.
The problem is teens feel sad and alone for too long. Then they get angry and turn to violence because they do not know how to deal with their feelings. The solution is to get parents and schools to work together to give teens a chance to learn how to talk about their problems and feelings. Another solution is to give teens a chance to be kids by giving them a chance to have fun at home and school.
